While ECF and National EuroVelo Coordination Centers and Coordinators (NECCs) make every effort to ensure the tracks and their levels of development are both current and accurate, errors or outdated information can occur. The Danish straits are the straits connecting the Baltic Sea to the North Sea. You will cross those straits to reach Sweden from Germany (or vice-versa), cycling across the flat, green and quiet islands that make up this part of Denmark. This stage of EuroVelo 10 - Baltic Sea Cycle Route leads you from Rostock to Malmö and you will have to hop on and off the charming ferries that connect the different Danish islands!

The Federal Logistics and Mobility Office (BALM) is the central lead partner for the promotion of cycling on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Transport. The BALM is the is the first point of contact for a lot of questions referring to the funding and the promotion of bicycle traffic. Thus, the BALM makes an essential contribution to the sustainable shaping of a safe, environmentally suitable mobility and to the accomplishment of the climate protection goals in the area of mobility. The Cycle Network Germany office at BALM is the project organiser for the German national cycle network. It forms the network of cycle routes of national importance and consists of the thirteen D-Routes, the German Unity Cycle Route and included the Iron Curtain Trail.

Danish Cycling Tourism is a non-profit association of public and private partners. Its main purpose is to develop and promote recreational cycling in Denmark. Since 2016, it has served as the national EuroVelo Coordination Centre for Denmark, and as of 2023, it will host the official online platform for the national cycling routes as well as the EuroVelo routes in the country.

This tour shows Mecklenburg-Vorpommern at its best. Through splendid seaside resorts and proud Hanseatic towns, over three islands and a peninsula you go on the Baltic Sea Coast Cycle Route. The Baltic Sea Cycle Route begins in the north at Teichweg border crossing in Flensburg and leads through Glücksburg, Eckernförde and Hohwacht, around the sunny island of Fehmarn as far as Lübeck-Travemünde. The route ends in the Hanseatic city of Lübeck whose medieval centre was the first complete old town in northern Europe to be declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO back in 1987.
